Josep Tabernero, Director of VHIO, has been awarded as a Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (FASCO). This recognition is due to his volunteer efforts on behalf of ASCO, his significant contributions to the specialty of oncology and his extraordinary dedication to improving outcomes for cancer patients.
In the words of Josep Tabernero, Head of the Medical Oncology Department at the Vall d’Hebron University Hospital (HUVH):

What does FASCO mean for the professional who has received it?
Launched in 2007 and formerly called the ASCO Statesman Award, The Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (FASCO) distinction honors ASCO members for their outstanding service, engagement, and commitment to the Society. This award was designed to honor ASCO’s most devoted members and volunteers to encourage more members to become involved with ASCO programs and activities.
How FASCO points are awarded?
This distinction, formerly called the ASCO Statesman Award, is bestowed upon ASCO members who have accumulated 100 or more points (FASCO points) for volunteer service to ASCO and its philanthropic affiliate, Conquer Cancer, the ASCO Foundation.
ASCO Annual Meeting 2024
