DECALOGUE FOR RESEARCH IN MEDICAL ONCOLOGY AND ADULT HEMATOLOGY
The relationship between patient associations and organisations, healthcare personnel and research teams are essential for the advancement of oncology.
The development of new techniques for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer requires the participation of all the agents involved at a basic and clinical level. This is the reason why the Stable Working Committee of Adult Oncology and Haematology of the Vall d’Hebron University Hospital, made up of health professionals and patients, have signed their adhesion to the Decalogue of research in oncology.
The Decalogue of research in oncology defines three main axes:
– Training and information
– Direct participation in research
– Promotion of synergies
The Decalogue is in line with the guidelines established by the Organisation of European Cancer Institutes (OECI), which is committed to a multidisciplinary approach to cancer, accompanying cancer patients throughout the evolution of their pathology and involving patients in this process.
With the aim of encouraging the integration of patients in research, promoting free and open access to information, establishing synergies between the professionals involved and for the recognition of all the profiles that work in cancer research.
