On 13 June, we paid tribute to the Endavant Chic@s Association by presenting them with a commemorative plaque. This was in gratitude for their unconditional support over the last 8 years.

They have supported breast cancer research at VHIO through their solidarity with patients and donations.

The Endavant Chic@s Association was inaugurated in 2016. In 2017, Luisa Vázquez, president of the association along with other members, altruistically volunteered to work in the waiting rooms of breast oncology consultations.

Volunteering with the VHIO’s Breast Cancer Group started an unconditional relationship. For the last eleven years, the association has worked with the association to organise workshops for breast cancer patients, which are held annually.

The association aims to provide support and assistance to breast cancer patients and their families. The association’s volunteers are available from Monday to Friday in breast oncology waiting rooms so patients can ask questions and concerns. They have the mission of responding to any needs that may arise throughout the clinical process, from diagnosis to the end of treatment.

Endavant Chic@s, since its beginnings, has contributed to breast cancer research, and specifically to the VHIO Hereditary Cancer Genetics Group. They also provide daily information on conferences and workshops that may be of interest to patients to accompany them throughout the disease process.

VHIO’s Deputy Manager, Sergi Cuadrado, accompanied by Dr Cristina Saura, head of VHIO’s Breast Cancer Group, and Dr Judith Balmaña, head of VHIO’s Hereditary Cancer Genetics Group, presented the plaque to Luisa Vázquez, president of the association.

Dr. Balmaña explains: “From VHIO, we would like to express our sincere thanks to Endavant Chic@s for their constant support. Their commitment is key to our work, and their work with patients is invaluable. Thank you for always being there”.

“I would like to thank you for the affection we have received from you. It has made us very excited and emotional, especially because this will help strengthen volunteers’ work, which is the most significant thing we have”, explained Luisa Vázquez, president of the association.

“We will try to continue this work, promoting research support. We thank you for always giving us such a fantastic welcome”, added Luisa Vázquez.

The Endavant Chic@s Association also organises paddle tennis tournaments and has a canoeing team, Dragon Boat, a team made up of breast cancer patients and survivors who are becoming more successful every year. Leisure and sporting activities are very helpful for creating bonds between patients and encouraging healthy habits during and after treatment.

Thank you again, Asociación Endavant Chic@s, for your commitment to research and for helping us support breast cancer patients.
