Today we launch a new episode of the Cancer360º podcast to discuss the potential role of the microbiome in cancer development, diagnosis, and treatment. Journalist Adam Martin speaks with Elena Élez and Paolo Nuciforo, both researchers at VHIO who collaborate on several projects, including the Grand Challenge funded by Cancer Research UK, or OPTIMISTIC. This project aims to understand how the billions of microorganisms living in our digestive system may influence the development of cancer—or, conversely, how modulating them could help us prevent it or improve its treatment.
