On behalf of the Scientific Co-Chairs, Joaquín Arribas, Director of Preclinical Research at VHIO, and Irit Sagi, Principal Investigator, Department of Biological Regulation, Dean, Feinberg Graduate School, Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel, we are delighted to announce the forthcoming VHIO/Weizmann Institute of Science Joint Conference on Cell Communication in Translational Research, 22 – 23 January, 2015, Rehovot, Israel. The main goal of our meeting this to bring together researchers of our two research institutes, as well as scientists from other institutions of excellence, in order to provide a platform for continuing dialogue and to subsequently launch productive collaborations addressing the questions and problems at the heart of the battle against cancer.
Kicking off with the two Keynote Lectures to be delivered by Yossi Yarden, It takes two to tango: HER2 and EGFR in cancer progression and therapy, and Josep Tabernero, Dissecting Colorectal Cancer in Multiple Targetable Subtypes, the outstanding panel of speakers will also report on the very latest, pioneering research into cancer molecular mechanisms and dedicated efforts towards precision cancer science and medicine. We are also immediately calling for the submission of abstracts and application for VHIO Travel Fellowships before the deadline of 10 December 2014:
We are currently offering a limited number of VHIO Travel Fellowships to young researchers at local and national level. Application for these Fellowships will require the submission of abstracts (Max. 300 words), to be subsequently reviewed and selected by our Scientific Committee. Abstracts must be sent before 10 December 2014 directly to Amanda Wren via email: awren@vhio.net.
Please also note: recipients of the Travel Fellowships will be notified as soon as possible thereafter. Accepted abstracts will either be selected as poster or oral presentations. For all those with accepted abstracts including non-recipients of the Travel Fellowships, accommodation will be kindly organized and covered by the Weizmann Institute. Information regarding accommodation and registration will follow further to the review of all abstracts received.
