Joining our portfolio of educational programs including scientific meetings, talks, ad-hoc courses & workshops, and internal Benchstormings, all aimed at promoting the debate and exchange of cancer science and clinical research, is our VHIO-”la Caixa” Scientific Seminar Series.
Led by its 3 Scientific Co-Chairs, Maria Abad (PI, Cellular Plasticity & Cancer Group), Laura Soucek (PI, Mouse Models of Cancer Therapies Group), and Elena Élez (Medical Oncologist and Clinical Investigator, VHIO’s Gastrointestinal & Endocrine Tumors Group), this educational initiative welcomes internationally renowned cancer researchers and clinical investigators to VHIO to present, debate and exchange latest insights, discovery and next directions in precision oncology.
Typically scheduled to take place on Fridays at 13:00h, each seminar consists of a 30-45 minute talk followed by an interactive Q&A round with participants. Chaired by each respective VHIO host, each seminar will be celebrated at our CELLEX Building auditorium.
Inaugurating the series, Ángela Nieto, Research Professor at the Institute of Neurosciences, Miguel Hernández University (UMH) – Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), will come to VHIO on Friday 20th September, hosted by our Director, Josep Tabernero, and Josep Villanueva (PI, Tumor Biomarkers Group). She will deliver a talk on: Epithelial plasticity in health and disease (the Ins and Outs of the EMT).
