Job description:
The Aging and Cancer Lab investigates the biology of aging and its connection to cancer. Our aim is to understand, measure and target the biology linking age to cancer in order to improve the lives of cancer patients, and to increase the number of years spent in good health for all individuals.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, brilliant research technician, who would enjoy being part of a small team that sets up the Aging and Cancer lab.
Duties:
- Tracking and ordering lab supplies & lab management
- Experimentation involving biochemical and functional assays on biological samples (e.g. ELISA, Western blotting, PCR, cell culture assays, microscopy, histology)
- Handling of clinical samples and mouse samples
- Maintenance of mouse colonies
Requirements:
- Experience: At least 4 years of relevant laboratory experience in biomedical lab working with mice. Certified experience in mouse colony maintenance and handling.
- Studies: Ph.D., M.Sc., and B.Sc. will be valued although not mandatory
- Languages: fluency in English, and in Spanish and/or Catalan
- Basic computer skills
