Job description:
The Experimental hematology group is seeking a senior laboratory technician to support the Hematology Molecular Genetics Unit, which is focused on the diagnosis and follow-up of hematological diseases through molecular biomarkers.
Our team is seeking a highly motivated person to supervise the unit technically and to implement new technologies to advance the diagnosis of hematological diseases: hematologic neoplasms as well as hereditary disorders.
Duties:
- General: coordination of lab technicians, reagent ordering, equipment training, experimental troubleshooting.
- Experimentation as required, implementation of new molecular markers and techniques.
- Genetic analysis: Sanger sequencing, real-time PCR and Next Generation Sequencing among others.
- Database management.
Requirements:
- Studies: B.Sc. and M.Sc in the field of life sciences.
- Relevant laboratory experience in a biomedical laboratory focused on genetic analysis.
- Motivated and engaged with diagnosis of genetic diseases.
- Excellent organization and teamwork skills.
- Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Computer skills.
Additional information:
- English: understanding manufacturer guides, ability to review relevant literature.
- Experience in hematological disorders.
- Experience in Next Generation Sequencing analysis.
