In accordance with the provisions of applicable personal data protection regulations and Law 34/2002, of 11 July, on information society services and electronic commerce (LSSI-CE), VHIO informs users that it has created a profile on the social media platforms Bluesky, Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Spotify and Threads, with the principal purpose of disseminating its cancer research activities, sharing scientific and clinical advances, promoting knowledge and raising public awareness about cancer, and providing information on initiatives, projects and activities aimed at improving the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of oncological diseases.
The user has a profile on the same social media platform and has chosen to follow the profile created by VHIO, thereby showing interest in the information posted there. By following our profile, the user gives their consent for the processing of the personal data provided in their profile.
The user may access the privacy policies of the relevant social media platform at any time and configure their profile to ensure their privacy.
VHIO has access to and processes the user’s publicly available information, in particular their contact name. This data is used solely within the social media platform. It is not incorporated into any data processing system.

VHIO informs you that you may exercise your rights of access, rectification, restriction of processing, erasure, data portability and objection to the processing of your personal data. For more information on these rights and how to exercise them, please consult our Privacy Policy.

Once a user has followed the VHIO profile, they may post comments, links, images, photographs or any other type of multimedia content supported by the social media platform. The user must in all cases be the owner of such content, hold the relevant copyright and intellectual property rights, or have obtained the consent of any affected third parties. Any publication on the profile, such as text, graphics, photographs or videos, that infringes or may infringe upon morality, ethics, good taste or decency, and/or that violates or breaches intellectual or industrial property rights, image rights, or the law, is expressly prohibited. In such cases, VHIO reserves the right to immediately remove the content and may request the user be permanently blocked.
VHIO shall not be held responsible for content freely posted by users.
Users must be aware that their publications will be visible to other users, and they are therefore primarily responsible for their own privacy.

VHIO reserves the right to organise and promote events, courses and workshops, seminars and scientific outreach activities through its social media channels, in which users linked to its profiles may participate. It may also promote participation and awareness initiatives, including support or donation campaigns. The specific terms of each activity or initiative, when carried out on the social media platform itself, will be duly posted there, in full compliance with applicable regulations, including the LSSI-CE.
The social media platform does not sponsor, endorse or manage such activities or initiatives in any way, nor is it associated with them.
Advertising
VHIO will use its social media channels to disseminate its research, scientific and outreach activities, as well as to provide information on events, courses, workshops, seminars and organisational initiatives. Whatever the case, should it decide to process your contact data for the purpose of sending information related to its scientific activity, it will always do so in compliance with applicable data protection legislation and the LSSI-CE.
