Job description:  

The Cancer Cell Cycle Group led by Dr. Marcos Malumbres offers a position for a Predoctoral researcher in cancer cell proliferation.

The candidate will be involved in the characterization of the molecular events that drive resistance to standard-of-care therapies targeting the cell division cycle in advanced breast cancer. The project will involve the analysis of molecules driving sensitivity and resistance to CDK4/6 inhibitors in breast cancer cells, the biochemical characterization of molecular pathways involved, and the validation of new therapies or therapeutic combinations to treat patients after progression to these inhibitors. The candidate will also be involved in the analysis of biopsies from these patients using machine learning algorithms in the search of biomarkers.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biomedical or related degree.
  • The candidates must be admitted or enrolled in a PhD Program in a Spanish University for the 2022-2023 academic year.

Additional information: 

The candidate is expected to have experience in molecular and cellular biology techniques, cell cycle analysis and bioinformatic tools.
