Job opening at VHIR
Data Scientist – Cancer Computational Biology Group
The Cancer Computational Biology Group, headed by José A. Seoane, PhD leverages epi(genetic) cancer datasets to unmask the molecular mechanisms implicated in cancer initiation, progression, drug resistance and metastasis toward improved outcomes for patients. We are also exploring how the machine learning-based integration of multi-omic datasets can facilitate the discovery of new cancer subgroups and biomarkers, as well as help to better predict treatment outcomes and drug response.
We are looking for a highly motivated scientist with an interest in the development and application of computational tools to analyze cancer omics data. We are seeking a computational biologist/data scientist with an interest in cancer research.
The candidate will participate in the research projects from the lab and has the opportunity to collaborate with world-leading biologists/physicians of the different groups of VHIO and external collaborators. The group supports the participation of the candidate in (inter)national scientific conferences and the publication of the obtained results in high-impact journals.
The group supports a healthy work-life balance and offers a 4 years full-time (40 hours) appointment.
