For the fourth consecutive year, VHIO is opening applications for its mentoring programme, VHIO4STEM.

During the programme, 22 students in their fourth year of ESO will work in pairs alongside 11 mentors, taking part in real biomedical research activities. They will discover laboratory techniques, explore key research facilities at VHIO and meet researchers from different backgrounds in their day-to-day work, going beyond common stereotypes and clichés about science and scientists.

The sessions will take place on 24 February and 3, 10 and 17 March, from 3:30 to 6:30 pm, at VHIO’s facilities.

Each year, more than one hundred 4th ESO students apply through the application form for one of the 22 places available on a programme that gives young people interested in science a first-hand look at what cancer research is really like.
