Position description:
The Vall d´Hebron Institute of Oncology´s (VHIO) Sarcoma Translational Research Group, headed by César Serrano MD PhD, is currently seeking to recruit a PhD Student. The successful candidate will form an integral part of the scientific team and will be directly involved in the identification and characterization of the molecular mechanisms involved in KIT oncogene – mediated addiction to a well-preserved transcriptomic program in gastrointestinal stromal tumors.
VHIO’s Sarcoma Translational Research Laboratory is a recently created research group with a highly motivating environment and connected interaction between the lab and the clinic. We focus on sarcoma translational research with an emphasis on the biological understanding of sarcomas towards drug development.
Requirements (degree, experience, additional training):
A highly motivated, team-oriented individual with previous experience in a biomedical research laboratory and highly skilled in molecular biology. The ideal candidate should be familiar with western blot and cancer cell culture, and also be prepared to work with human tissues. Previous experience working with high-throughput data will be favorably considered.
