Romanyà Valls printing company began its journey 70 years ago in Capellades (Barcelona) with a clear commitment: to print and bind books in the highest quality. Today, the third generation of the family at the helm of the company continues this same spirit. It has chosen to contribute to cancer research at the Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO) through a donation.

The company prints and binds books for publishers such as Anagrama and other well-known names nationwide.

After experiencing the disease at close hand within the family, Elisenda Romanyà, Director of the company, visited VHIO’s facilities to present a cheque for 10.000€ to Carles Constante, Managing Director of the centre.

“This is a very generous gesture on your part, and we are deeply grateful for your donations to support of VHIO research. There is still a long way to go, and every contribution counts,” said Carles Constante.

During the visit, a tour of the facilities was also conducted. This featured the laboratories and provided insight into the day-to-day work of a cancer research centre such as VHIO.

Elisenda Romanyà commented: “We hope thanks to all these advances, more treatments for this disease will be found in the future.”

Thanks to donations like this, VHIO can continue to advance cancer research efforts. This is to improve prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of the disease. VHIO operates under a pioneering model that transforms laboratory discoveries into early-phase clinical trials, generating new therapeutic opportunities for cancer patients through the development of increasingly innovative and effective treatments.

Since its creation, VHIO, with the launch of the Cancer Molecular Therapy Research Unit (UITM) – CaixaResearch, has contributed to the approval of 79 new drug indications that are now part of clinical practice. In many cases, these advances have helped increase survival and improve the quality of life of cancer patients.

Thank you, Elisenda, for your generosity and for supporting cancer research at VHIO.
