VHIO’s Biomarkers and Clonal Dynamics Group is dedicated to unraveling the molecular complexities and variables influencing clinical outcomes in patients. We aim to advance cancer research through the innovative application of tumor evolutionary analyses using longitudinal tumor and circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA)-based liquid biopsy in different clinical and therapeutic settings including cancer immunotherapies and targeted therapies. We also study the impact of hypoxia on tumorigenesis and clinical features, EPAS1-HIF2α mutation selection, and the efficacy of HIF2α inhibitors.

What is the reward for your solidarity?
The Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO), founded in 2006 and integrated within the Vall d’Hebron Campus, is an international reference centre in personalised cancer medicine. Its pioneering model enables scientific advances made in the laboratory to be rapidly transferred to patients, improving cancer prevention, early diagnosis and treatment.
Your donation will help us continue developing research projects aimed at finding more effective treatments for cancer patients, whether through research hours, research staff, or the necessary equipment and materials.
Supporting VHIO not only drives cancer research forward, but also offers tax benefits:
- You can deduct 80% of the first €250 donated during the year to non-profit organisations such as VHIO, and 40% of the remaining amount.
- In addition, if you have supported a cancer-free future through donations to VHIO for more than two years, the deduction on this remaining amount increases to 45% for individuals and 50% for legal entities.
- If you are a resident of Catalonia, you may be entitled to an additional 30% deduction (up to a maximum of 100%).
- If you donate to a centre such as VHIO, you can apply the Catalan regional tax deduction in addition to the national tax deduction for philanthropy. For example, the first €250 donated will receive a 100% tax deduction. For amounts above €250, 70% of the excess can be deducted.
We will send you a certificate that you can submit with your income tax return for the year in which the donation was made.
