The Vall d’Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO) and the CaixaResearch Institute are joining forces to host a dedicated ERC InfoDay aimed at supporting bold, forward-thinking researchers and research managers as they prepare applications for the prestigious European Research Council (ERC) grants.
This informative session, scheduled for the morning of September 17, 2025, will offer a comprehensive overview of the newly published ERC Work Program and present key updates and opportunities for the upcoming calls.
In addition to the main presentation, the program includes two roundtable discussions—one featuring ERC evaluators and the other comprising current ERC grantees. These sessions will provide valuable, first-hand perspectives on what makes a successful proposal, common challenges, and strategies for maximizing the potential of groundbreaking ideas.
About the European Research Council (ERC)
The European Research Council, established by the European Union in 2007, is Europe’s premier funding organization for investigator-driven frontier research. Its mission is to foster scientific excellence by supporting the most creative researchers across all disciplines, regardless of nationality or age, and by encouraging high-risk, high-gain proposals that push the boundaries of knowledge.
The ERC offers four core grant schemes—Starting Grants, Consolidator Grants, Advanced Grants, and Synergy Grants—in addition to a Proof of Concept Grant that helps grantees explore the innovation potential of their research results.
