The Nocturna Rosa dinner has become an unmissable event for many individuals and companies in Malgrat de Mar. On 18 October, the fourth edition of this charity event was held at the Hotel Atzavara in Santa Susana. The event brought together 400 people and raising €15,439 for research by the VHIO’s Breast Cancer Group.
This donation is the result of all the activities that the Nocturna Malgrat association has promoted throughout 2025: the Sant Nicolau Market, the Women’s Race, the Charity Paddle Tennis Tournament, and especially the 4th Charity Dinner, which has become the main driving force behind the initiative.
The evening began with a thank you to all those in attendance. It also reviewed the evolution of the dinner as an act of solidarity over the last few years. The event was launched in 2022 with 150 participants, 35 collaborating companies and €5,000 raised.
In 2023, it involved 250 people and 55 companies, raising €10,129. In 2024, the number continued to grow, with more than 280 attendees and more than 65 collaborating companies. This raised €11,130, which was donated entirely to breast cancer research at the VHIO.
During the initial presentation, Dr Santiago Escrivá, medical oncologist at Vall d’Hebron University Hospital and researcher at the VHIO Breast Cancer Group, discussed the latest advances in breast cancer treatment and detailed the projects made possible thanks to donations from Nocturna Rosa.

Over the last two years, the initiative has helped to fund the research project ‘Mechanisms of resistance to anti-HER2 therapies in patients with HER2+ metastatic breast cancer’, led by Dr Escrivá. Plasma and tumour tissue samples from patients were analysed before starting treatment to detect genetic mutations related to the disease.
Dr Escrivá wanted to recognize the work of the organisation and Mireia Azoz, member of the Nocturna Malgrat board and coordinator of the dinner: “What you have achieved with the Nocturna Rosa is incredible. You have helped us greatly research breast cancer and every year you surpass yourselves. Thank you very much from the entire Breast Cancer Group team for everything you do!”

In this edition, Nocturna Rosa also wants to hear patients’ personal experiences. Pilar Ros, a metastatic breast cancer patient and member of the Metastatic Breast Cancer Association, wanted to share her testimony about the importance of research and community support.
The presenter of the event then invited everyone involved in organising the Nocturna Rosa onto the stage. This was to thank them for their dedication and highlight the remarkable work they do throughout the year. Mireia Azoz was visibly moved when she said:
“Without these wonderful, generous women, I couldn’t have done anything alone. You are what drives me, and I want to thank you for your efforts and help in making Nocturna Rosa possible. More research for more life!”
Once again, Nocturna Rosa continues to grow and consolidate itself as a key initiative to promote breast cancer research at VHIO.
Thank you, Nocturna Rosa, for your generosity.
