VHIO to host Nano World Cancer Day 2017 at national level

On February 2nd 2017 as we gear up to World Cancer Day to be celebrated globally on February 04, VHIO will host the 4th edition of NANO WORLD CANCER DAY at national level, organized by NanomedSpain.

With other similar events being planned Europe-wide in Germany, Austria, Belgium, France, Greece, Holland, Ireland, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Switzerland, Turkey, and the UK, the half-day program taking place at VHIO´s Auditorium, the CELLEX Center, will be jointly inaugurated by Josep Tabernero, VHIO´s Director, and Josep Samitier, Scientific Coordinator of NanomedSpain, and Director of the Catalan Institute of Bioengineering (IBEC).

Leading experts within the rapidly emerging nanotechnology field, including VHIO´s Teresa Macarulla, Medical Oncologist and Clinical Researcher of our Gastrointestinal & Endocrine Tumors Group, and appointed Coordinator of an eventual Phase I clinical trial for the H2020 supported NoCanTher Consortium (as announced by VHIO Communications last July, see: EU´s Horizon 2020 backs nanomedicine to potentiate therapy against pancreatic cancer), will come to VHIO to update on the very latest developments in nanomedicines against cancer.

Specially selected talks, to be delivered in Spanish, will span the following key topics:

Nanotechnology in the treatment of cancer patients, Nano therapies against cancer: an industry perspective, Nanomedicines and cancer: from preclinical research to clinical application, and Nanotechnology applied to oncology: a novel reality?.

The session will close with a Question & Answers round with the invited speakers, providing all participants with opportunity to put their comments and questions forward.
