Statistics Unit - VHIO

La Unidad de Estadística del VHIO implementa metodologías bioestadísticas innovadoras para optimizar el diseño de los estudios, el análisis y la interpretación de los datos, con el objetivo de potenciar la investigación clínica y preclínica.

En colaboración con grupos de investigación en múltiples ensayos clínicos y estudios observacionales, participamos en las distintas etapas de la investigación, desde el diseño experimental hasta el análisis y la visualización de los datos y, finalmente, la publicación de los resultados. Nuestras principales áreas de trabajo incluyen el cálculo del tamaño muestral, el diseño estadístico de ensayos clínicos, la modelización multiestado, los análisis de supervivencia, los análisis de coste-utilidad y las revisiones sistemáticas y metaanálisis.

Nuestra Unidad facilita el diseño y la puesta en marcha de estudios promovidos por investigadores del VHIO, así como de nuevos diseños adaptativos de ensayos clínicos de fase I/II. Trabajamos estrechamente con los equipos investigadores en el diseño y la publicación de los resultados de diversos estudios clínicos liderados por el VHIO, así como en la validación del valor pronóstico de nuevas pruebas y biomarcadores del cáncer. Además, optimizamos el uso de datos de la práctica clínica real para generar nuevos conocimientos más allá del contexto de los ensayos clínicos.

Nuestro equipo participa en diversos proyectos europeos y nacionales destinados a desarrollar e implementar diseños estadísticos innovadores. También trabajamos para mejorar los diseños de los estudios de escalada de dosis, con el objetivo de optimizar la selección de dosis durante el desarrollo de fármacos oncológicos. Asimismo, continuamos evaluando el potencial de los brazos de control sintéticos para comparar la eficacia de los ensayos de un solo brazo.

  • Realización de revisiones sistemáticas y metaanálisis para responder a cuestiones relevantes en la investigación oncológica.
